Fisher Investments first opened offices in Washington in February 2007, and in 2011 moved into our newly constructed campus in Camas, Washington, offering employees the best of both an urban experience with Portland, Oregon right across the river and an active outdoor lifestyle with skiing, hiking and other recreational opportunities.
Portland, Oregon and its surrounding metro-area may be lesser known than others in the US, but it’s a fantastic place to live, work and play.
Portland, having been heralded as a top-ten eating town in the US (The Huffington Post), the US’s next art capital (The Wall Street Journal) and one of the best places to live in the world (The Guardian), has become a destination for young professionals, entrepreneurs, foodies, outdoors adventurers and artists—to scratch the surface of its diverse community. With over 40 microbreweries, MLS and NBA teams, hundreds of unique restaurants and food carts, annual music festivals anywhere from alternative rock to jazz, an international airport and the well-known Powell’s City of Books, Portland strategically lies in the beautiful Columbia River Valley, one hour from Mt. Hood and two hours from the Oregon coast.
Just a short drive across the river lie Vancouver, Washington, and Camas, Washington. While Oregon boasts no sales tax, Washington has no income tax—creating a favorable tax environment for residents on both sides of the river. Vancouver and Camas also have excellent school systems, very affordable costs of living and close-knit communities.
Though just three cities in the Portland metro-area, Portland, Vancouver and Camas offer several options for any lifestyle.
When you join Fisher Investments, we offer a comprehensive list of relocation resources - maps, housing resources, entertainment guides and more.
