Tax and Accounting Associate

Fisher Investments is looking for a Tax and Accounting Associate to join our newest office in Costa Rica! You will join a growing, multinational firm to build your tax and accounting experience. You will play an important part in ensuring we are safeguarding assets by assisting Corporate Finance in compliance tasks including tax prep, fixed asset tracking, customs reporting and financial reporting.

The Opportunity:

As a Tax and Accounting Associate, you will work with a team who is dedicated to mitigating risk while ensuring global compliance. As we continue to grow, you will take on more advanced projects and analysis to continuously build your tax and accounting skill-set. You will also get a chance to participate in projects that speak to your unique tax strengths, and directly influence the team by helping improve processes. You will report directly to the Tax Management team, who will facilitate your training, growth and career development.

The Day-to-Day:

• You will ensure that customs reporting and fixed asset management process and controls align with local regulatory requirements

• Work closely with Procurement, Fulfillment, Finance and IT to ensure fixed asset are properly received, tracked and recorded

• Ensure imports are received, reported and logged in compliance with local regulations

• Prepare information for VAT returns and create the support documentation

• Ensure electronic invoicing support is processed and records maintained in compliance with local rules

• Ensure indirect tax is maintained and aligned with local regulatory requirements

• Prepare and maintain financial records, including profit and loss statements, cash flow statements, and balance sheets

Your Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

• At least 1 year of experience in accounting and tax

• Familiarity with Costa Rican tax laws and regulations

• Fluent in Spanish and English
