The Trading Operations team oversees accurate booking and settlement of all of the firm’s trade activity, and is integral to ensuring efficient trade processing and minimizing risk. We are seeking a person with intellectual curiosity and a track record of success to be the next Trading Operations Associate.
In this role you will manage the settlement cycle of our trades and reduce monetary and reputational risk wherever possible, as you work closely with Fisher Investment’s Traders and counterparties at brokerage firms and custodians around the world. You will have the ability to impact the success of the firm’s portfolio management efforts by identifying and eliminating operational problems, streamlining processes and building infrastructure as we pioneer new markets.
Trading Operations gives you the opportunity to quickly learn the nuances of global market structure, trade processing, and industry-standard settlement practices. This role is an outstanding opportunity to learn about trading at Fisher and across the industry.
You will be given rotating responsibility for a section of trade activity (U.S. Private Client, Institutional Global Trading, Foreign Private Client, etc.), including trade execution reconciliation and monitoring for on-time booking and settlement of equity, fixed income, and currency trades.
•Troubleshoot time-sensitive trading issues with tangible impact to the firm
•Work closely with counterparties, foreign and domestic to prevent and resolve failed trades
•Verify foreign exchange transactions for global trades using GTSS in accordance with intra-day exchange rates and proprietary tolerance levels
•Oversee the initial trading setup of Institutional accounts with brokers and custodians
•Build infrastructure to facilitate trading for Foreign Private Client expansion
•Learn, build, and maintain trade-specific technology, including internal and 3rd party applications like Omego CTM, Oasys, Alert and TradeSuite.
•Reconcile trade activity to ensure all trades are accurately allocated and confirmed
•Seek out opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy and leverage technology to streamline trading processes
•Use Bloomberg to obtain and validate transaction-related security information.
•Strong analytical thinking, especially when faced with ambiguity
•Strong investigative and quantitative problem solving skills
•Ability to communicate and work efficiently in high-pressure situations while meeting deadlines throughout the trading day/settlement cycle.
•Ability to quickly learn new processes and workflows

•Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interface with various levels of management
•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access
