Our IT/Technology Department is now seeking a highly talented IT Business Analyst to join our team to help provide support to our internally-developed and third-party software solutions.


This position will be located in our San Mateo, CA (near San Francisco, CA) office or in our Camas, WA, office (near Portland, OR). This will be a contract-to-hire or direct hire opportunity.


The Day-to-Day:

  • Responsible for managing technical development of software from inception through user acceptance, including projects which affect multiple departments and/or pose high risk situations.  Designs steps and modules, defines timelines, identifies and resolves issues
  • Presents options and manages client expectations
  • Utilizes design skills to define functional specifications for complex and high impact projects
  • Develops and documents business/functional requirements through requirement gathering sessions, business process mapping, process analysis, etc.
  • Creates logic flow charts and process diagrams
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues.  May be responsible for support to an entire business unit
  • Develop test cases and plans for system, unit, integration testing internally and externally
  • Researches external software solutions
  • Make business recommendations based on critical analysis
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of Fisher Investments’ systems architecture
  • Maintain a high-level of accuracy and timeliness while managing multiple requests with varying complexities and due dates
  • Identify ways to streamline processes by recommending items for automation, re-structuring, or elimination



Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, computer science, finance, math, or other science field required
  • 5-7 yrs. experience in supporting software programs; or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Previous experience serving as a Technical Business Analyst or Systems Analyst in software applications development organization
  • Solid understanding of Enterprise applications development
  • Demonstrated SQL skills to organize and analyze data quickly, efficiently, and accurately
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Strong ability to prioritize across various tasks, manage changes in daily workload, and operate under several simultaneous deadlines


Preferred Skills/Previous Experience:

  • Previous Financial and/or Accounting experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and partnering skills
  • Comfortable in a dynamic and collaborative environment
