We are now seeking a highly talented Privacy Program Manager to join our team. This position will sit in our San Mateo, CA (near San Francisco, CA) office. This will be a contract-to-hire or direct hire opportunity.

 

The Opportunity:

 

The Privacy Program Manager is responsible for helping to create and manage the Privacy Program across the corporation including providing advice in creating processes with privacy in mind.   The Privacy Program Manager also assists in the operational day to day responsibilities of the Data Protection Office including responding to data subject requests, breach notification and investigation, privacy impact assessments, legitimate interest assessments and other tasks.  The Privacy Program Manager also helps develop and execute projects such as training, monitoring, auditing, and developing new processes with the business. 

 

The Day-to-Day:

  • Engage with all areas of the organization to obtain a thorough understanding of the information gathered, processed, stored and shared, with particular PII data;
  • Provide privacy guidance and support to various departments, including global marketing, client services, sales, human resources, institutional, finance and IT teams.
  • Work on projects related to ongoing compliance with data protection and privacy laws, and related requirements
  • Establish and manage tools for documenting and tracking compliance with Fisher's global legal obligations, including data impact assessments, legitimate interest assessments, data subject requests, business process mapping, and breach notification
  • Assist in creating and maintaining privacy related notices, policies, standards, guidelines and processes, including privacy reviews
  • Help to create and coordinate Fisher's global privacy program framework and to develop and manage internal controls relating to privacy, security, and legal frameworks.
  • Working across the organization to put in place monitoring of compliance with the Regulations, with other EU or local data protection provisions and with the data protection policies, including the assignment of responsibilities, awareness-raising and training of staff involved in processing operations throughout the organization;
  • Coordinate internal and external audits of our privacy systems and procedures as needed.
  • Be flexible and willing to work on projects in other areas.
  • Excellent relationship building and team management skills and the ability to create passion, energy and commitment among diverse groups and team members.

 

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Privacy certification (e.g. CIPP or CIPM or similar) preferred
  • Substantive and demonstrated experience, including knowledge of EU Data Privacy Requirements, including GDPR and experience in conducting privacy reviews and privacy impact assessments.
  • 3+ Years of experience in data privacy or other compliance
  • Experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects with varying deadlines
  • Experience working independently but collaboratively and working with senior leaders
  • Intermediate to Senior
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required, be able to effectively communicate across different levels of the organization.
  • A mix of skills and experience extending from data privacy into information risk management, relationship management and persuasive/negotiating skills;
  • Make good, timely decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
