The Opportunity:

As an Investment Operations Associate you will work closely with other internal groups at Fisher Investments, as well as external parties such as, brokerage firms and our custodian partners around the world, positively impacting the firm’s investment process from an operations standpoint.


The Investment Operations Group operates within our Portfolio Management Department and is integral to ensuring client portfolios reflect accurate investment activity, holdings, asset pricing and related information, which carries with it many downstream impacts including accurate reflection of clients’ account values, performance and reporting.


Investment Operations gives you the opportunity to quickly learn the nuances of global market structure, trade processing, and industry-standard practices. This role is an outstanding opportunity to learn about operations at Fisher and across the industry. 


The Day-to-Day:

  • Troubleshoot time-sensitive operational issues with tangible impact to the firm/clients
  • Work closely with counterparties worldwide to prevent and resolve problems
  • Respond to questions from other internal Fisher Investments teams
  • Setup new accounts and securities in systems
  • Assist in department-wide projects to build infrastructure for Fisher’s international client expansion
  • Learn and utilize both proprietary and industry-standard investment operations-related software and systems Reconcile account activity to ensure records and performance accuracy
  • Seek out opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy and leverage technology to streamline processes


  • No prior experience required - we focus on transferable skills
  • Strong analytical thinking, especially when faced with ambiguity
  • Strong investigative and quantitative problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate and work efficiently while meeting deadlines throughout the day
  • Curious, with a proven history of quickly learning new processes and workflows
  • Live off of your task list and thrive with setting priorities and executing – top performers also know how to take initiative to work on needs outside their task lists
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of reliability
  • High level of personal accountability and appreciation of opportunities for innovation
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate and effectively navigate relationships at various levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access a plus
