Global Portfolio Evaluation Associate (2018-7309)

Camas, WA, United States
Portfolio Management

Job Description

Are you intellectually curious and ready to learn something new? Do you enjoy thinking through problems and improving processes? As a Portfolio Evaluation Associate you will have an opportunity to enhance your operational skills, hone your attention to detail, learn about our investment process and be an internal resource for our client Relationship Managers. You’ll be encouraged to ask questions, improve processes, and propose solutions to problems.

Portfolio Evaluation Associates review client and prospective client portfolios and create deliverables to provide transparency to clients.  Additionally, our associates focus on contributing to areas beyond building deliverables including content creation, education for our internal/external clients, infrastructure and technology enhancements, and development of human capital.  This role is in our Portfolio Management Group, which supports the investment process, from ideation to implementation, and offers a diverse range of opportunities for engaging work and professional growth.

We are looking for people from all backgrounds!  While a financial background is beneficial, it is not required as we will teach you everything you need to know to get started – we just ask that you bring passion for progress! In exchange we will support you with role specific training and mentorship.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Prepare investment proposals by compiling client or prospective client information
  • Generate analyses to help clients and prospective clients make informed decisions regarding their current and potential investment strategies
  • Run projected cash-flow analysis or create financial plans for our clients to help them properly plan their financial future
  • Complete ad-hoc projects to assist in new group and firm initiatives

Associates who are able to excel at their core responsibilities will get an opportunity to work on group projects and initiatives. This helps you build your skills for your current and next role in the firm.

Your Qualifications:

  • No prior experience required - we focus on transferable skills
  • Have a keen eye and high standards for the work you produce
  • Excel at managing your time and thrive in an ambiguous and fast paced environment
  • Are excited to learn, set goals for yourself and exceed expectations
  • Have a list of accomplishments you worked hard for and are ready to add more
  • Are a strong written and verbal communicator
  • Are enthusiastic about servicing both internal and external clients
  • Pride yourself on collaboration and being helpful
  • Enjoy identifying inefficiencies and proposing process solutions

Why Fisher Investments:

Fisher Investments is a different kind of investment firm. We don’t come from Wall Street, nor do we believe we fit in with most of the finance industry, and we’re proud of that. We work for a bigger purpose: bettering the investment universe. From unmatched service to innovative perspectives on investing, it’s the people that make the Fisher purpose possible. After all, it’s our people that enable us to offer the level of service that we do. And we invest in them accordingly, offering exceptional benefits like:

  • 100% coverage of premiums for health, vision and dental insurance
  • A 50% 401(k) match, up to the IRS maximum
  • 20 days of PTO*, plus 9 paid holidays
  • 8 week paid Primary Caregiver Parental Leave
  • And much, much more

We also provide a cumulative, continuous learning and development framework customized for every employee. This emphasis on personal and professional growth has yielded an award-winning work environment; we’re Great Place to Work Certified, and The Oregonian named us as a Top Workplace.

But in the end, it’s not the perks that keep people here. They stay because they believe in our mission of service—our employees want to make a difference in an industry that can do better.

* California employees accrue up to 17 days of PTO and 3 days of sick time per year.
