Job Description


Do you have a strong background in capital markets and ESG research and analysis? If so, we would like to speak with you. We are a privately-held investment management firm who manages portfolios for high net worth private clients and some of the world’s preeminent institutions. We are now searching for a highly talented finance and research-oriented professional to join our team of Research Analysts in either our Woodside, CA or Portland, OR Metro Area offices. 


The Opportunity:

As the next ESG Research Analyst, you will collaborate with other Research Analysts to conduct ESG analysis, develop ESG research and reports, and work closely with the Investment Policy Committee (IPC).  This role will contribute to FI’s ESG capabilities to support not only portfolio decision-making, but also client reporting and education efforts.  You’ll also take part in Private Client Group, Fisher International and Institutional Group sales and service efforts and contribute to team operational improvements.


The Day-to-Day:

  • Create empirical research on a regular basis concerning ESG issues, themes, and trends affecting our investment philosophy, process, portfolio themes, and rationales
  • Identify necessary ESG reporting and create the reports to drive decision-making
  • Create capital markets technology utilizing ESG data and through collaboration with Capital Markets Analysts
  • Collaborate with Securities Analysts to identify companies that can improve their ESG ratings
  • Co-author white papers and additional research to be used with prospects and clients
  • Participate in Investment Roundtables, Fisher Client Forums, Investing 101s and client/prospect meetings, and provide critical commentary to our Private Client Group, Fisher International, and Institutional Group via written and oral communications

Your Qualifications:

  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with multiple audiences over several platforms
  • Like working with data to derive fact-based insights
  • Have a passion for understanding and interpreting current events through an ESG lens
  • Can offer concise, cogent statements of probability from a diverse selection of possibilities
  • Have the intellectual flexibility and drive to rapidly learn and test new ways of thinking, doing and communicating, while being comfortable with ambiguity
