Overview

Are you a problem solver who prides themselves in analyzing and digging into complex accounting questions? Are you looking to develop a new skill set while improving processes and procedures?

 

As an Accountant and Budget Analyst, you will be responsible for fund analyses as well as answering any questions on fund activity. You don’t need to have previous fund accounting experience to apply – we are happy to train on this piece! Learn fund accounting from A to Z to eventually mentor and help train new Accounting Associates. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys accounting and has budgeting experience.

 

The Day-To-Day:

  • Prepare budgets, variance analyses and profitability models
  • Calculate and monitor expense accruals and review expense payments
  • Proactively identify issues and exceptions that are affecting accounting records  and assist in the resolution
  • Partner with third-party administrators and various business groups throughout the US and Europe
  • Ensure accuracy of accounting by fund administrators
  • Liaise with other teams within Corporate Finance to provide insight into business transactions and help analyze Firm accounting impact of fund activity
  • Periodically write reports to management on fund activities
  • Develop, implement and maintain company policies and procedures
  • Automate and improve existing processes and methodologies

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 3+ years of accounting experience; familiarity with budgeting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (or related discipline), or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills
  • Financial planning & analysis or audit/public accounting experience a plus
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
