The Opportunity:


The VP (Head of), Technology (Shared Business Services) is a senior technology management role that leads teams in the delivery and support of core technology domain capabilities used globally.  This position can sit in our Camas, WA, (near Portland, OR) office, our San Mateo, CA, (near San Francisco, CA) office, our Plano, TX, (near Dallas, TX) office, or our new Tampa, FL, office. Our Tampa, FL office will have an expected start date of mid-late 2020. This will be a direct hire opportunity.


Foundational to the position is serving as the primary provider of enterprise-wide technology capabilities including enterprise data repositories, enterprise content management, RPA, BPM and other shared technologies.  These capabilities may be used directly by business users across the enterprise or designed for use by other technology teams.  As such, the role requires excellent communication and partnership skills, the ability to co-create vision and strategy that enable the wider enterprise and technology organization, and the ability to instill confidence in others. It includes responsibility for the production support, project delivery, and strategy required to deliver technical capabilities including in-house and vendor systems regardless of the hosting strategy. 


The holder of this position is expected to provide leadership for 30-50+ staff and contractors, plus consultants and vendors as needed.  That leadership includes responsibility for the development and recruitment of personnel.

The Day-to-Day:


  • Own all aspects of shared technology solutions used by technology and business partners.  Act as the central point of contact and primary trusted technology partner for associated business units.
  • Develop technology strategy and roadmaps in conjunction with enterprise groups, vendors and other internal technology partners.
  • Deliver projects and programs while meeting time, budget, and scope goals.
  • Keep abreast of technology trends and industry solutions that impact the partner businesses and firm technology at large.
  • Actively partner with and manage vendors who provide technology services and solutions.
  • Measure, communicate and deliver on application stability, monitoring and production support.
  • Develop ecosystem scorecards, SLA’s, and KPI’s in conjunction with the enterprise and other technology partners to evaluate success, determine areas for improvement, and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Contribute to technology risk evaluation including the management of obsolescence and technology debt.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as external legal requirements.
  • Develop and manage budgets and resources as requested.
  • Work with peers and management on the development of mission, standards, services, goals and objectives.
  • Recruit, build, and mentor high-performing teams.


Your Qualifications:


  • Must have a minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience managing and building effective, high-performing IT teams and leadership.
  • Experience with enterprise data platforms, data & analytics, enterprise content management, ETL tools, API’s, RPA, BPM, BI/AI and other related technologies.
  • Ability to form and lead centers of excellence that enable and partner with other technology and business teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to have constructive interpersonal interactions with both individual contributors and senior executives inside and outside of technology. 
  • Experience leading enterprise technology transformation initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.
