The Opportunity:


The VP (Head of), Technology (Private Client Group Services) is a senior technology management role that leads teams in support of the US & International Private Client Groups.  This position can sit in our Camas, WA, (near Portland, OR) office, our San Mateo, CA, (near San Francisco, CA) office, our Plano, TX, (near Dallas, TX) office, or our new Tampa, FL, office. This will be a direct hire opportunity.


Foundational to the position is serving as the primary trusted technology partner for the business.  As such, the role requires excellent communication and partnership skills, the need to co-create vision and strategy that enable the business, and the ability to instill confidence in others.  It includes responsibility for the production support, project delivery, and strategy for all technology capabilities used by the business including in-house and vendor systems regardless of the hosting strategy. 


The holder of this position is expected to provide leadership for 30-50+ staff and contractors, plus consultants and vendors as needed.

The Day-to-Day:


  • Own all aspects of technology solutions used by business partners. Act as the central point of contact for the Information Technology group and primary trusted technology partner for associated business units.
  • Develop technology strategy and roadmaps in conjunction with the business, vendors and other internal technology partners.
  • Deliver projects and programs while meeting time, budget, and scope goals.
  • Keep abreast of technology trends and industry solutions that impact the partner business and firm technology at large.
  • Actively partner with and manage vendors who provide technology services and solutions.
  • Measure, communicate and deliver on application stability, monitoring and production support.
  • Develop ecosystem scorecards, SLA’s and KPI’s in conjunction with the business and other technology partners to evaluate success, determine areas for improvement, and identify areas of opportunity
  • Contribute to technology risk evaluation including the management of obsolescence and technology debt.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as external legal requirements.
  • Develop and manage budgets and resources as requested.
  • Work with peers and management on the development of mission, standards, services, goals and objectives.
  • Recruit, build, and coach high-performing teams.


Your Qualifications:


  • Must have a minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience managing and building effective, high-performing IT teams and leadership.
  • Recent experience implementing a CRM solution, preferably Salesforce.
  • Recent experience implementing Cloud solutions, preferably Azure or AWS.
  • Experience within the financial or wealth management industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to have constructive interpersonal interactions with both individual contributors and senior executives inside and outside of technology. 
  • Strong organizational, managerial, and conceptual skills. 
  • Experience leading enterprise technology transformation initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.
