The Opportunity:

 

The VP (Head of), Technology (Institutional and 401k Services) is a senior technology management role. This position can sit in our Camas, WA, (near Portland, OR) office, our San Mateo, CA, (near San Francisco, CA) office, our Plano, TX, (near Dallas, TX) office, or our new Tampa, FL, office. This will be a direct hire opportunity.

                                                                            

Foundational to the position is serving as the primary trusted technology partner for the business. As such, the role requires excellent communication and partnership skills, the need to co-create vision and strategy that enable the business, and the ability to instill confidence in others. You will be responsible for the production support, project delivery, and strategy for all technology capabilities used by the business including in-house and vendor systems regardless of the hosting strategy. 

 

You will be expected to provide leadership for 7-15 staff and contractors in addition to consultants and vendors as needed. 

The Day-to-Day:

 

  • Own all aspects of technology solutions used by the partnering business leadership and business.  Earn a seat at the table as the central point of contact for the Information Technology group and primary trusted technology partner for the business.
  • Develop technology strategy and roadmaps for capabilities in conjunction with the business, vendors and other internal technology partners.
  • Deliver prioritized projects and programs as mutually-agreed upon with the partnering business leadership (time, budget, scope).
  • Keep abreast of technology trends and industry solutions that impact the partner business and Fisher technology at large.
  • Actively partner with and manage vendors who provide technology services and solutions.
  • Measure, communicate and deliver on application stability, monitoring and production support.
  • Develop ecosystem scorecards, SLA’s and KPI’s in conjunction with the business and other technology partners to evaluate success and determine areas for improvement and areas of opportunity.
  • Contribute to technology risk evaluation including the management of obsolescence and technology debt.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as external legal requirements.
  • Develop and manage budgets/resources as requested.
  • Work with peers and management on the development of mission, standards, services, goals and objectives.
  • Recruit, coach and build high-performing teams.

 

Your Qualifications:

 

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience managing and building effective, high-performing IT teams and leadership.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills with demonstrated evidence of constructive interpersonal interactions with both individual contributors and senior executives inside and outside of technology. 
  • Strong organizational, management and conceptual skills.
  • Experience leading technology transformation initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.
