The Opportunity:

 

The Investment Analyst within 401(k) Solutions (4S) reports to the Vice President of 401(k) Solutions Retirement Success and is instrumental in evaluating the investment strategies used by our 4S clients. This includes analyzing funds and interviewing fund managers to evaluate their merits on client fund retirement plan investment menus, completing special research projects to help determine future client investment solutions, and supporting the group's unique fiduciary processes and support model.

 

Through these responsibilities, you will learn best practices and strategies on investing within retirement plans. This includes an understanding of best‐in‐breed data investment software (fi360 and Morningstar), fund analysis (and their applicability within a larger fund line‐up), fund operations, asset allocation solutions and methodologies, retirement plan types and the governing fiduciary processes that guide our approach.

 

The Day-to-Day:

  • Perform fund and Morningstar category analysis to support improvements and innovations to client investment funds
  • Monitor fund performance and news and oversee the group's watchlist process (i.e. process to determine when and why we remove fund from a client lineup)
  • Evaluate and potentially implement new investment solutions (e.g. managed accounts, financial wellness), 3rd party tools, and investment offerings
  • Create and support special research projects (e.g. ESG investing in retirement plans)
  • Analyze retirement specific investment news
  • Support the group's adherence to the fiduciary process, including the creation of new investment policy statements, investment lineup construction, and monitoring the investments used by each plan
  • Develop new ideas and provide data support for investment related sales and service collateral
  • Potentially meet with clients and prospects to discuss investment related questions
  • Selectively prepare prospect investment menu evaluations and analysis to aide in the sales and service process

Your Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience reviewing and assessing funds; experience in the retirement industry
  • An interest in learning about a broad spectrum of investment concepts
  • Prioritize multiple tasks, cope with changes in daily workload
  • Work with autonomy and independence
  • U.S. candidates must be fully vaccinated as defined by the medical community against COVID-19 and provide proof of such vaccination by date of hire
