It’s an exciting time to be a member of our Real Estate Finance team.  Our business is growing and looking to invest in building a Finance dedicated team to support this significant real estate growth. 

The Opportunity:

As the Property Accountant, you will be responsible for accounting responsibilities related to our commercial real estate properties – area will be with our Plano, Texas campus consisting of nine buildings with approximately 1M sq. ft. and 100+ tenants.  Reporting to the Real Estate Controller, you will have daily interactions with property accounting personnel, facility personnel and vendors.  You will help ensure proper controls are in place and develop and implement processes to improve the efficiency of the team and those we work with.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements / reporting packages, journal entries and maintain the general ledger
  • Reconcile monthly bank statements to the general ledger
  • Record and process accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Process cash receipts and prepare bank deposits
  • Prepare common area maintenance and real estate tax reconciliations
  • Help prepare annual operating budgets
  • Set up new leases and vendors in the accounting system
  • Assist management with special projects and other tasks as assigned
  • Work onsite, under management, in a team-based and open office environment

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required, degree in business, accounting or a similar field
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial real estate property accounting experience       
  • Experience with Yardi or relative software required
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative skills required
  • Ability to adapt to changes in a fast paced, team environment
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage time across various tasks
