The Importance of Valuing Differences

At Fisher Investments and our global affiliates, valuing differences is embedded in our culture. This trait is not only sought in external candidates, but is also reinforced through our employee development resources, work environment, company goals, and annual C.O.R.E. (Celebrating Our Remarkable Employees) Awards process.

Valuing differences means recognizing the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization. This includes:

• Seeking out people from different backgrounds and perspectives to draw upon their knowledge, expertise, and insight.
• Grasping and respecting the uniqueness of each individual.
• Creating an environment where everyone feels comfortable.
• Seeking opportunities to learn from others who have different perspectives, backgrounds, or styles.

Account Executive Team Leader, Lindsey Y., was among Fisher’s 30 C.O.R.E Award winners in 2023, receiving several nominations for valuing the unique perspectives, cultures, and experiences of her team members and collaborators. "I felt extremely honored to receive C.O.R.E. Award recognition in the ‘Values Differences’ category because it is so important to me. I have always encouraged my team members be their authentic selves and to feel confident in what they bring to the table,” said Lindsey. “I love coaching my team towards their individual goals while reinforcing the strength that comes through their personal experiences and perspectives. I try to create an environment where employees feel empowered to achieve great things and carve out their unique path in the organization."
