Our IT Department is now seeking a Data Management Analyst. This position can be located in our San Mateo, CA, office (near San Francisco, CA), our Plano, TX, office (near Dallas, TX), or our Camas, WA, office (near Portland, OR).

 

The Data Management Analyst, reports to the Data Management Manager, and is responsible for executing data governance and data management solutions and capabilities for the enterprise. This person will be responsible for a variety of aspects of the program, which may include, writing and editing policy and standard documentation, drafting program update announcements, cataloging metadata and definitions, data case management, and process improvement. 

 

This person will create strong relationships with the members of the Data Management Team and Council, and members of Technology who are responsible for the applications that generate and prepare the data, and Business leaders who consume and analyze the data. The candidate must have strong communication and leadership skills, the ability to influence and collaborate with a wide range of roles, and the passion to inspire their team to achieve.

 

The Day-to-Day:

 

  • Edits data management documentation, including policies, standards, and procedures
  • Implements data management standards and practices across the enterprise
  • Updates the enterprise data taxonomy and catalog
  • Supports the identification, selection and implementation of tools and processes for data governance, metadata management, data discovery and data lineage
  • Executes enterprise data management initiatives and priorities, and monitors the adherence enterprise projects to data management standards
  • Provides program updates to manager and peers
  • Evangelizes and trains the business on the importance of data governance and data management

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, business, or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience in data management preferred, preferably in financial services
  • Demonstrates ability to analyze and use data systematically
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong ability to prioritize across various tasks, handle changes in daily workload, and operate under several simultaneous deadlines
  • Maintains focus, and persistence, even under adversity, while maintaining the confidence of key stakeholders
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand the business of Fisher Investments
